Working out with no motivation

How To Workout With No Motivation

March 25, 20251 min read

A quote I like: "If you think the price of winning is too high, wait until you get the bill from regret"

The #1 excuse I hear for not working out? Lack of motivation. But relying on motivation sets you up for failure on those days when it’s MIA—which is most of the time!

Instead of waiting around for motivation, why not master the art of working out without it? Here’s how:

  1. Start with WHY → Why do you even want to exercise? Visualize the ultimate result. Picture yourself in four months, feeling and looking better. Focus on that, not the struggle ahead.

  2. Get 1 step closer → You don’t need motivation to finish a workout—just enough energy to start. Put on your workout clothes and head to the car. Once you’re dressed and in the car, you’re more likely to follow through.

  3. Let other people know Accountability is powerful. Tell someone you’re heading to the gym. No one likes to back out after they’ve made a commitment, so leverage that to your advantage.

  4. Build your bad-ass resume → Get one workout done when you least feel like it. Doing it once builds confidence and proves you don’t need motivation, just action.

That's all. I tried to keep it short to get you on with your day!

Have a wonderful day,

Alex
