Menopause Mindset Shift

Menopause Mindset Shift

A quote for you: "What the caterpillar calls the end of the world the master calls the butterfly."

I’m a menopause training specialist. Yes, I’m one of the few men certified in this area—and yes, I’m in my 20s. But what matters most is what I’ve learned from my studies and working with countless women in perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause.

Here’s the most important lesson I’ve learned:

Change is hard, but it’s also an opportunity.

The way your mind and body have changed over the last few years hasn’t been easy. But change doesn’t just bring discomfort—it brings growth, joy, confidence, and new possibilities.

This phase of life often requires renegotiating the roles, habits, and activities that used to serve you. By now, your kids may be out of the house (or close to it). Maybe you’re retired or considering it. It’s finally time to prioritize YOU after years of caring for others.

Here’s what I hope you’ll remember:

  1. Menopause is a normal and natural life transition.

  2. Transitions are part of being alive.

  3. Your journey is unique, and you decide how to experience it.

  4. Menopause is an opportunity to grow.

  5. Many factors will shape your experience.

Why Exercise Matters During Menopause

While exercise benefits everyone, it offers particularly transformative advantages during menopause:

  • Maintains/increases bone density, reducing osteoporosis risk

  • Builds muscle and improves balance

  • Reduces joint pain, hot flushes, and night sweats

  • Enhances mood, mental health, and cognitive function

  • Supports pelvic floor health and overall quality of life

  • Improves the quality and quantity of your sleep

Working out doesn’t have to be just about weight loss. Exercise helps you feel more like yourself again. It’s a way to reclaim strength, confidence, and control over your body.

That’s All for Today!

Have a wonderful day,

Alex

P.S. I know it might sound weird to hear menopause advice coming from a 23 year old male trainer… I hope that doesn’t stop you from taking something away from this email :)
