The Curse Of Achieving Your Goal
Words I like: "We should concern ourselves not so much with the pursuit of happiness, but the happiness of pursuit."
The funny thing about success? It never feels like enough.
You set a goal. You grind. You reach it.
And then… nothing.
The excitement fades. You barely take a moment to celebrate before your brain starts asking, What’s next?
It’s human nature. The moment you accomplish something, your mind moves the finish line.
You say, I’ll be happy when I lose 20 lbs. But once you get there? You’re already thinking about the next 10.
The problem isn’t the goal itself, it’s how we attach happiness to the outcome instead of the process.
That’s why the best goals aren’t outcome-based. They’re behavior-based.
Instead of chasing a number on the scale, chase the habits that get you there:
I will work out 3 times this week.
I will eat protein with every meal.
I will go for a 10-minute walk every day.
These goals give you something to win every day. They build momentum. And they keep you from feeling empty once you hit a number that, honestly, was never going to be enough.
Focus on the process, and the results will come anyway.
That’s All for Today!
Have a wonderful day,
Alex
